I really did have the best of intentions to keep going and I hope I can use this site as an outlet while I finish up that little book called my dissertation.
So, in picking up where I left off, I figured I close out William's 2nd birthday party: Monsters!
We had a lot of fun with this theme as exhibited in the table scape from Williams Birthday Party - Take 1.
Here are some of the other highlights:
The banner was designed from the "Bump in the Night" Cricut cartridge. Turned out so much better than I had expected. We found the monster paper at Michael's.
The wreath was a Pinterest project I found and then modified. The original project recommended Ping-Pong balls and a sharpie for the eyes. I decided to glue different sized googly eyes all over the wreath and found some Halloween ribbon with eyeballs on it at Michael's.
This is the best picture W would let us get that year but isn't the shirt great! I found a lady on Etsy who sells them. Did a request for the colors and we love it. I've been doing the appliqued/embroidery shirts every year and have decided to keep going until the boys won't let me do this any longer. I plan to make a t-shirt quilt out of all these shirts, their Christening outfit, etc. for a keepsake.
All our little guests were so excited to take home one of these pails. I bought the pails late in the summer at the Dollar Store. We ordered the colored boas from Oriental trading and then I purchased an Etsy file for the monsters' faces, had them printed at a local printer, cut them out and modge-podged them on. Hot glued googly eyes. We stuffed them with monster tattoos, monster squishy balls, stickers, and other fun things.
I loved the mouths so much and had a bunch extra that I purchased large popsicle sticks and we gave everyone a monster mouth to hold up at the party. It was a bit confusing for most of the two year olds in attendance.
